Why you can trust 12DOVE
Of course, the underlying game is still pretty darned good. The Shot Stick is a little more forgiving than its cousin on the next-generation consoles, while passing and play-calling remain intuitive. In fact, one of the few new features is the ability to execute a lead pass, which comes in quite handy when trying to throw down an easy deuce on a breakaway.
The only other update of note is the implementation of the 6th Man Advantage, which gives the home team (or both squads if it's a neutral court) some attribute boosts when the crowd really digs what's going on in front of them. String together some nifty phi-slamma-jamma dunks, key steals, and a big rebound or two, and the energy from the crowd will temporarily fuel your cagers to play above their abilities. It's a welcome change, and one that truly gives a home team the kind of advantage that they normally enjoy in real life.
