Colin Trevorrow addresses Jurassic Park 4 rumours and cynicism
"Don't believe everything you read"
Jurassic Park 4 director Colin Trevorrow has been chatting about his dinosaur fourquel again, this time assuring franchise fans that "this is not a paycheck gig for me".
In an attempt to assuage negative internet conjecture, Trevorrow ( Safety Not Guaranteed ) took to the Jurassic Park Podcast in order to clear a few things up.
“I saw some of the rumours on the internet and I would have all kinds of red flags going off if I heard they were going to muzzle a T-Rex," he says. "So I would say don’t believe everything you read, there are way more insiders on the internet than there are in real life.”
The director goes on to add that he really wants "to make a kick-ass Jurassic Park movie", stating: “This is not a paycheck gig for me and it’s not the movie that I’m making so I can make the movies that I really want to make.
“It’s important to make a movie for the fans but I also have to remember that there’s a lot of people who just couldn’t care less and need me to make a solid case for why the hell there’s a Jurassic Park 4 in the first place, and I want to make a movie for them too.”
Though it's still very early days in the production of JP4 , it's great to hear Trevorrow talking so enthusiastically about the film while keeping his priorities in check.
The fourquel was originally set for a summer 2014 release, but was postponed to 2015 by Universal in order to give Trevorrow a chance to work on the film's script with producer Steven Spielberg. We can't wait to see what they rustle up.
