Colin McRae 2005 out this autumn
... And this time it's fully online. First shots and details of Codemasters' latest rallyer right here
Codemasters have today announced that Colin McRae Rally 2005 will be released for PS2 and Xbox in the autumn - and both versions will feature online head-to-head rallying for up to eight players.
A new Career Challenge mode sees players having to speed through over 20 different classes of rally events including Challenges, Cups, SuperCups, Shields and Championships across a mammoth selection of over 300 stages. Other modes include 4WD Championship, Rally and Stages as well as the aforementioned online function.
Meanwhile, the generous selection of vehicles on offer ranges from 'four-wheel classics' to 'super two-wheel' to 'distinctive'. We're not sure what any of that means but in there somewhere is the Volkswagen Golf MK5, Toyota Celica GT-FOUR, Lancia Stratos, Alfa Romeo 147 GTA, Alfetta GTV Turbodelta, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII, Peugeot 206, 205 T16 Evo2 and the VW Beetle RSi.
From a visual point of view, we can look forward to a new bonnet-cam and an improved chase cam along with enhanced damage and scenery graphics, while the nine international locations now include German stages. Expect more on the game come E3.
