Christoph Waltz will star in The Muppets sequel
Film will be set in Europe
The first few details have emerged concerning the sequel to The Muppets , with Kermit, Miss Piggy and friends set to pack their bags and embark upon a caper that will take them around the sights of Europe.
Better still is the news that Christoph Waltz has signed on to play an Interpol agent who becomes embroiled in the Muppets’ antics. A lovely piece of casting, we’re sure you’ll agree.
Director James Bobin is currently working on a script with co-writer Nicholas Stoller, with the film set to see the Muppets “running around Europe”. Sounds about right, doesn’t it?
Jason Segel, who starred in the first movie, has already ruled-out a full-scale return, although he may yet pop up in a cameo. However, we’re incredibly excited to see Waltz terrorising his furry co-stars. The man doesn’t suffer fools gladly.
Other characters reportedly include a Russian femme fatale and “a male lead whose intentions are always in question”. And of course, the rest of Kermit’s cuddly little gang. We can hardly wait…
