Chopping Mall to get a remake
Killer robots on the loose
Robert Hall will be directing a remake of Chopping Mall , a movie about killer robots.
Chopping Mall centres around a group of teenagers who become trapped in a shopping mall after a late night party.
The are hunted by the shopping mall's security robots whose systems have malfunctioned, causing them to go on a killing spree.
The original film was written and directed by Jim Wynorski and released in 1986.
However, Robert Hall's version of Chopping Mall is not going to be an exact remake of the original.
The new version is expected to downplay the sci-fi element of the original and focus more on supernatural terror.
Robert Hall is teaming up with screenwriter Kevin Bocarde who last worked together on slasher film ChromeSkull: Laid To Rest 2.
The cast has not yet been confirmed but filming will begin early next year.
