With Kick-Ass 2 just around the corner, Chloë Grace Moretz has been talking about how her character Hit-Girl has changed over the intervening years, and what we can expect from her in the new film.
"What Jeff Wadlow and I really wanted to improve was the real heart of it," says Moretz in an interview with Movie Magic (via ComicBookMovie ), "because I wanted to show that this girl didn’t have a father anymore and how much that affected her."
"She’s really confused and going through the self-torture of, ‘Am I killing people because this is what I was raised to believe was a good thing, or am I just murdering people?’ I wanted to show this inner pain and struggle, and the fact that she’s lost her only family, her father."
Sounds like she's plagued by a little more self-doubt this time around, but that's not to say she doesn't still end up doling out a huge amount of pain…
"I also wanted to make the action a little bit different," she continues. "So we basically scrapped the guns. I do use guns a little bit in the movie, but we basically do hand-to-hand combat and it’s just a lot more hands-on."
Directed by Wadlow and co-starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jim Carrey, Kick-Ass 2 will open in the UK on 14 August 2013.
