Chili Con Carnage - first look
We get an early glimpse of crazy-style south-of-the-border shootdodging mayhem
There'll also be a secondary single-player mode called El Macho, which appears to just be a string of Macho Challenges. On the upside, you'll be able to run through them as any of a number of silly, unlockable characters, and the mode seems to be intended as a pick-up-and-play mode for short bursts of action.
The game will also feature ad-hoc multiplayer matches, although we don't yet know how many players or match types the game will allow. However, we do know that the matches will be littered with multiplayer-only power-ups that mess with your opponents. We're talking stuff like flipping their screens upside-down or shaking them with an earthquake.

It's too early to say if Chili Con Carnage will actually be any good when it hits stores in spring; we haven't even played it yet, after all. But it's got the stupid-awesome aesthetics nailed down, and we're optimistic that the simplified control scheme will remove the camera irritations that plague most PSP games. Whatever the case, we're looking forward to seeing more of this one soon.
