Based on a true story, this frothy surf-flick follows 15-year-old Santa Cruz surfer dude Jay (Jonny Weston) as he enlists local legend “Frosty” Hesson (Gerard Butler, a million miles out of his comfort zone) to help him train and tame the title surf break, one of the biggest and most punishing waves on earth.
Naturally, life lessons are learned along the way, but the big draw here is some truly spectacular – and occasionally terrifying – surfing footage.
