Charlize Theron stars in first Dark Places clip: watch now
The first clip has arrived from Dark Places, Gilles Paquet-Brenner’s adaptation of the thriller by Gillian Flynn. Charlize Theron heads up an impressive cast as Libby Day, a woman struggling to deal with the childhood trauma caused by the brutal murder of her family.
This first clip shows Libby falling in with a bizarre society known as the Kill Club, a strange collection of murder obsessives fascinated by her case, and whether or not her brother was really the culprit…
Take a look at the new clip, below…
If some of the dialogue comes off as a little stilted here, there’s still plenty to capture the imagination, with Theron in particular seeming the perfect choice to play Flynn’s damaged heroine. She might not be Amazing Amy levels of crazy, but there certainly seems to be more to her than meets the eye…
Directed by Paquet-Brenner and co-starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Corey Stoll and Christina Hendricks, Dark Places will open in the UK and US later this year, with an official release date to be confirmed.
