Charlie Cox says Daredevil is a "perfect fit" for Marvel's Cinematic Universe
We're just one day away from the second season of Marvel's Daredevil, and the man without fear has certainly found a great home for himself on Netflix. The tone of the TV show is much different than what we see in the Marvel's movies, but Charlie Cox is convinced that his version of Daredevil would work perfectly with the Avengers on the big screen.
In an interview with ComicBook.com, Cox noted that "some people have [wondered] based on the tone the show, how Matt would fit in with the Avengers. I was reading Civil War the other day, and Matt Murdock… is kind of an ass. He’s in the back, standing around grumpy a lot of the time, and every now and again, he just says ‘Well, we’re not doing that’ or something to that effect, and I’m like, ‘That’s the character, we’re fine.’ So tonally, with Matt I think we’re right on point and he’d be a perfect fit in the larger MCU."
If Daredevil does team-up with the Avengers it will probably happen in Infinity War, which is said to be the culmination of everything the MCU has been building toward. And if it doesn't happen at least we'll still have The Defenders, which will see Daredevil team-up with Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage. According to Cox, it might take a while for Daredevil and his allies to get along.
"Something that’s very tricky for Matt is to allow anyone to help him", Cox revealed to Entertainment Weekly. "I think at times a belief in his own invincibility. Which is false, that he can do it all by himself, and it’s very stubborn at times, very deluded at times."
"One of the lessons that he’s going to have to learn this season is that he needs other people, he needs help, we all need help. And hopefully, that will therefore mentally prepare him for what’s coming, which is - and I don’t know what the dynamic of the Defenders will be - but if that is going to be a team-up, then he’s going to have to learn those lessons in Season 2. Hopefully."
Starring Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Élodie Yung, Stephen Rider, Jon Bernthal, and Rosario Dawson, Daredevil season 2 arrives in its entirety on Netflix March 18.
