Charlie Cox says Daredevil is Marvels darkest project yet
Spills the beans on upcoming TV show
Charlie Cox has been discussing what we can expect from Marvel’s new Daredevil TV show, telling Heat Vision it is the darkest thing the studio has done so far.
“I’ve read comics after comics after comics,” says Cox of his preparation for the role. “I’ve never read so many comics in my life, and we’re finding moments from the comics to reference in the show.”
“We’re trying to make a show that’s new,” he continues, “and much, much darker than anything I’ve ever seen Marvel do before.”
And as for what makes the show so dark, Cox says it is the nature of Daredevil himself, who will be presented as a relentless, obsessive character.
“The concept that he can’t stop,” says Cox, when asked what makes his character unnerving. “He’s going out and he’s taking the law into his own hands, and he doesn’t know if he can stop. He might be addicted to it.”
Co-starring Vincent D’Onofrio, Rosario Dawson and Scott Glenn, Daredevil will air on Netflix in 2015, with a specific release date to be confirmed.
