Channing Tatum takes flight in first image from Jupiter Ascending
Bird? Plane?
The first image from the Wachowskis’ Jupiter Ascending has arrived online, featuring Channing Tatum in explosive action.
Tatum plays Caine in the new sci-fi, a genetically-engineered military hunter who arrives on Earth to track down Jupiter Jones (Mila Kunis), a young woman destined for greatness.
Not that said destiny has made itself apparent by this point, with Jupiter dreaming her way through a tedious cleaning job, unaware of the cosmos-altering future that lies in store for her.
The new snap shows off the film’s pleasingly outlandish design aesthetic, with a heavily made-up Tatum clutching some sort of energy shield while dispersing a cloud of sparks from his legs. As one does.
Directed by Lana and Andy Wachowski and co-starring Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne and Douglas Booth, Jupiter Ascending will open in the UK on 25 July 2014.
