A new game from The Witcher 3 devs is coming this year
Two unannounced games are in the works at The Witcher 3 developer CD Projekt Red, according to CD Projekt's 2015 Financial Results Presentation. The first new project will try out "a new type of video game format previously unexplored by the studio", and it's coming some time this year.
The other unannounced game was listed just after CD Projekt Red's (that's the developer, CD Projekt is its parent company) plans for Cyberpunk 2077 in the 2017-2021 section as "another AAA RPG title". CD Projekt president Adam Kiciński said during a call with investors that the company is "experimenting" and trying things "nobody has ever done before," as reported by DualShockers, but he refused to go into further detail about the games.
A few other morsels included later in the report could reveal a bit more, thankfully. CD Projekt plans to expand its GOG Galaxy PC gaming platform with "new features and networking technologies required by new CD Projekt Red products" in 2016, and GOG.com will support new CDPR games with "customized solutions for multiplayer gaming and other online features" in the 2017-2021 window.
Judging by how those dates line up, it sounds like CDPR's 2016 game may offer some online features that stop short of traditional multiplayer (which would be a new arena for the single-player RPG studio, aside from those Witcher MOBA and board game spinoffs it co-developed). The 2017-2021 AAA game may have all-out online multiplayer, though Cyberpunk 2077 is also confirmed to have some sort of multiplayer component.
That's all just informed speculation, of course. But it's the sort of thing we end up doing when the people who made The Witcher games tease cool new projects and then tell us next to nothing about them, darn it.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
