Pierce oozed cool - we don't dispute that. So those who want to cling onto the days of slick hair and chiselled cheekbones should stick Die Another Day in their disc-spinner and marvel at a disappearing Aston Martin.

But for those who want a rush of blood to the head from a pounding, chest-thumping Bond, your time is now. The Casino Royale trailer has arrived, giving us our first chance to watch Daniel Craig kick up some dust as 007.

Since Bond last graced our screens, Batman has begun, Superman has returned and now the world’s greatest secret agent is back - better and bloodier than ever.
