Cartoon Network does "MEGA" games on PS3, Wii

Cartoon Network is readying a new series of Flash-based internet games designed for play on Wii and PS3.

Selected popular shows from the Cartoon Network and Adult Swim channels will get their own titles within the new "interactive video and gaming" series, entitled the MEGA Series, reports Next-Gen. No specific titles have been named.

Working somewhat like a Flash-based website, the games will be accessed and played through both consoles' web browsers. Ross Cox, senior director of entertainment products, Cartoon Network New Media, says: "We'd like to think our efforts effectively demonstrate how the console browser can be utilized as a new distribution platform."

If you like the sound of that, Wii owners should point their browsers at Wiicade.com - it's a Flash-game website intended for play on Wii, and some of the games work brilliantly with the Wii Remote.
