We've seen Black Panther. We've seen a fistfight between Iron Man and Captain America. We've even gotten our first look at the MCU version of Spider-Man. By now you might be wondering what more could Captain America: Civil War have left to show us? A new TV spot has your answer, and it's a tense (but funny) moment between Black Widow and Hawkeye.
The Marvel movies have always had a somewhat playful tone about them, so I'm glad that we're finally starting to see that in Civil War's marketing (and to be fair, the exchange you see in the TV spot was included in the international trailer as well, this is just the first time it's been in an ad designed for the West). But what's really got my attention is that half-second shot we see at the very beginning of the ad, of Cap's shield hitting the ground. Considering how attached Steve Rogers is to that thing, watching a close-up of it dropping feels symbolic. What does it all mean? We'll find out soon.
Directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, Captain America: Civil War hits UK cinemas on April 29 2016 and May 6 2016 in the US.
