Captain America: Civil War will be Marvel's longest movie
Fans of superhero movies are going to be spending a lot of time in cinemas over the next couple months. We recently got word that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would be clocking in at 2 hours and 31 minutes, and April's Captain America: Civil War won't be much shorter.
According to an Event Cinema listing (via ComicBookMovie), Civil War will be the longest MCU film to date with a lengthy run time of 2 hours and 26 minutes. That's 10 minutes longer that The Winter Soldier, and 3 minutes longer than 2012's Avengers.
Considering that Civil War has a ton of characters and will also lay the groundwork for the Infinity War movies, this news isn't all that surprising. As we often say with news like this, if the time is used properly then a movie can feel much shorter than it actually is. With the Russos' track record, the longer Civil War is the better.
Directed by Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey, Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, Tom Holland, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan, Captain America: Civil War opens in UK cinemas on April 29, 2016 and May 6, 2016 in the US.
