Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is out now on PC and Xbox One
The campaign returns with bonus DLC for Modern Warfare
Update, April 30: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is available now on Xbox One and on PC through Battle.net, right on schedule. Both versions can run at up to 4K resolutions with HDR enabled, while the PC version also offers uncapped framerates and ultrawide monitor support.
Your Modern Warfare 2 Remastered purchase will also unlock the Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle for use in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - just make sure you play both games on the same system.
Update, March 31: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is out now on PS4. While the surprise launch was a little deflated by early leaks that let players in certain regions experience the entire campaign early, it's still quite the rapid deployment.
Modern Warfare 2 remastered includes the entire campaign from the 2009 original, all with updated visuals and audio. Unlike Modern Warfare Remastered, it does not include any of the original game's multiplayer modes. However, as a bonus for your purchase you will also receive the "Underwater Demo Team Classic Ghost Bundle" which you can use in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's multiplayer, Spec Ops, and Warzone modes.
Activision confirmed in a tweet that Xbox One and PC versions of Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered will launch on April 30, and pre-purchase for them is now live.
Original story, March 30: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered could launch today, according to a leaker who has form with the Call of Duty series.
Twitter user @Okami13_ (as first spotted by VG24/7) has claimed that the remastered campaign for Modern Warfare 2 is due to launch on Monday 30th. He tweeted the date last week, before following it up with another over the weekend.

While leaks like this wouldn't usually be worth paying too much attention to, there is something clearly going on with a potential Modern Warfare 2 remastered campaign.
13 essential Modern Warfare tips to know before you play
Last week, the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update seemingly re-confirmed the existence of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, as dataminers discovered assets for the rumoured title within the patch itself. You can view those images on Imgur, but they appeared to be the cover art (alongside banner images) which features the title "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered".
The images show updated variants of Modern Warfare 2 character Ghost alongside the mascot soldier of Infinity Ward's 2009 shooter. Add on the rumoured date from Okami13_, and these two leaks suggests Infinity Ward is close to either officially revealing or launching the all-but-confirmed title.
The story above is an update written on the 30th March. The original story is below.
A product listing for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered has appeared on the Korean Ratings Board, adding further fuel to the rumours that a up-scaled version of Infinity Ward's 2009 shooter is releasing for PC, PS4, and Xbox One later this year.
Discovered on the Game Rating Administration Committee's website, a game called "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered" was rated on February 26, earlier this year, listing Blizzard Entertainment as the publisher.
This isn't the first time a rating for the remastered Modern Warfare 2 campaign has appeared online. A similar listing was discovered on the PEGI website this time last year, before it was promptly taken down.
Like this one, PEGI only rated the campaign, suggesting that the game's popular multiplayer component isn't getting the remastered treatment with it, unlike 2017's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, which brought both the single player and online experiences of the original package onto current gen consoles.
Rumour has it that Call of Duty 2020 is a rebooted Black Ops game from Treyarch, following in the footsteps of last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare re-imagining. Could it be that Activision is planning to tack on the Modern Warfare 2 Remastered campaign as an added pre-order bonus?
We've reached out to Activision for comment, and will let you know when we hear anything more.
