Many players out there are still looking to buy an RTX 3080, and if you're one of them, you've come to the right place. The Nvidia graphics card has now been succeeded by the GeForce RTX 4080 Super, but that doesn't mean the Ampere GPU isn't worth buying. In fact, if you can get one for the right price, you'll find it'll run all the latest games and boost fps even at 4K, provided it's sat alongside other high-spec components.

The RTX 3080 once sat on the best graphics card throne, but there are now newer RTX 40-series options that pack more of a punch. If you go looking for a GPU at most retailers right now, you're more likely to find Lovelace cards than you are older Ampere models, especially when it comes to mid-range selections. As time goes on, you'll likely see even less new stock on the market, meaning you may have to go second-hand.

However, there's still time to snag a new Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 before that inevitably happens. So, we've whipped up where to buy the RTX 3080 below along with some reliable retailers who tend to still stock the last-gen component. While buying a used card is also an option, it might be safer to check below for new stock, as many GPUs are ex-crypto mining cards that have been put under stress for an extended period.

RTX 3080 price

It's worth reiterating that the Nvidia RTX 3080 carries an MSRP of $699 and RRP of £649 respectively. That's, unfortunately, the going rate in an ideal world, though - sadly - that's just not reflective of the current market for PC gaming tech. When online retailers have stock of these cards, it's always above the MSRP/RPP the vast majority of the time; at least right now. Though it is getting better.

We said in our Zotac Gaming RTX 3080 Amp Holo review from earlier this year, that it's a "truly fantastic video card". This sentiment remains just as true in 2022 with today's games as it was when the high-end Ampere video card launched nearly two years ago. Make no mistake, any rig running the RTX 3080 can still easily be classified as one of the best gaming PCs you can build at the moment.

FAQ

Is the RTX 3080 good for 4K gaming

Despite being a last gen graphics card, the RTX 3080 is still a 4K powerhouse today, managing to maintain 60fps in many Steam releases. As time goes on, it will likely struggle to keep up with brand new outing with fancier visuals, but some settings tweaks should help you boost fps.

How much is the RTX 3080 today?

The RTX 3080 launched for $699 back in 2020, but you'll typically pay $499 for a custom variant today. You might be able to save even more by browsing the second hand market, but be wary of cards that have been potentially used for crypto mining, as they'll be already pretty worn.

Is the RTX 4060 better than the RTX 3080?

Typically, next generation graphics cards tend to provide better performance than higher tier older models. However, the RTX 3080 still packs much more of a punch than the RTX 4060, but is ultimately less efficient when it comes to power consumption.
