The Journey soundtrack on vinyl makes us want a record player
Oh look, an entirely valid excuse to buy a soundtrack that you probably won’t be able to play on anything. Austin Wintory’s incredible feels-inducing Journey soundtrack is now available to buy on vinyl.
Collaborating with artist Mark Englert, production company iam8bit has crafted a beautiful album cover for the Grammy nominated soundtrack’s very first trip onto grooved plastic. Priced at $35.00 the set includes two record discs with unique art on each side.
“The scarf of the Traveler wraps around the album’s perimeter, creating an almost hypnotic effect as it spins,” says the PlayStation Blog. “If you pay close attention to the Traveler’s robe, you’ll notice that that the embroidery becomes more ornate as you progress from side A to side D - just like each time you beat the game.” Well, when you put it like that, who needs music to be portable or even playable?
Also available to buy is a eye-wateringly lovely ultra-limited edition Journey screen print that won't just make you want hand over money in exchange for pretty sand but also makes Journey's trip to PS4 in 1080p this year even more exciting. The Road of Trials at 60fps is going to be exhilarating. Shop for the record and screen print here but be quick, there's only 350 numbered and signed prints available. Good luck.
