Burnout Legends boosts on to PSP
EA announces the PSP version of the popular high-speed, crash-centric arcade racer
EA has announced the September debut of Criterion's Burnout franchise on to Sony's PSP handheld console.
Featuring tracks lifted from Burnout 1, 2 and 3, Legends is a combination of all the best bits of previous Burnout games thrown together in one package.
Players can expect the usual speed, destruction and all-round mayhem, which is spread across eight gameplay modes such as Crash, Road Rage and Pursuit.
As is to be expected, Burnout Legends will also feature multiplayer capabilities via PSP's wireless system. A game share option is also included, allowing owners of the full game to share a demo level with non-Legends-owning chums.
"Burnout Legends is the perfect quick gaming fix for PSP," commented Criterion's creative director Alex Ward. "As anyone who's played Burnout can tell you, a quick 30-second crash junction can be just as satisfying as a two-hour multiplayer session - and that's the hallmark of a perfect PSP game."
Burnout Legends will be unveiled properly at this month's E3 show in May. But for now, just cast your eyes over this one, lonesome-looking screenshot on the right.
