Bungie's emotional farewell to Halo: A dramatic reading
Bungie's goodbye to Halo and its fans, given the theatrical treatment it deserves
Ina blog poston Bungie.net, the studio has related not feelings of sadness, but of hope, both for the future of Halo and for the future of Bungie's upcoming works as it begins its new life after the Chief. It's all rather heartfelt, but being Bungie, slightly overblown in the gravitas stakes too. So while I have no doubt that the post was written with tongue placedsomewhatwithin cheek, I felt that merewritten textcould not do Bungie's sentiments justice. Bungie's final words to the Halo communitydeservedsomething more. A more significant delivery. So I decided that a dramatic reading was necessary.
I called Simon Callow, but he was busy, so Imade it myself. I have a beard so I think I'm pretty well qualified.
That's only a short exerpt though. Head over to Bungie.net forthe full post, where the studio discusses the last days of Halo in its offices, the metamorphisis of both studio and website, and its "unwavering focus" on the future. Excting times. Here's crossing everything that Bungie's next universe proves as successful as the one it's leaving behind. And that it provides me with something else to theatrically bellow about soon.
