Bryan Singer testing actors for Jack The Giant Killer
Aaron Johnson still in the running
Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Killer has been subject to numerous delays this year, but the director is finally meeting with actors for his fairytale epic.
The X-Men helmer has invited three young actors to come in and audition for the title role of hero Jack, including Kick-Ass ’ Aaron Johnson, A Single Man’ s Nicholas Hoult, and stage actor Aneurin Barnard.
The first two definitely have the action credits for such a part, Johnson having proved his mettle in Kick-Ass , while Hoult’s faced Medusa in Clash Of The Titans. The latter could earn more favour with Singer, though, considering he’s currently starring in X-Men: First Class.
Meanwhile, actresses are being lined up for the part of the princess who Jack rescues from giants, with Lily Collins ( The Blind Side ), Adelaide Kane and Juno Temple ( Greenberg ) all scheduled for London-based screen tests in the coming weeks.
Considering Singer’s previous knack for putting together a stellar cast (see X-Men and The Usual Suspects ), we’re sure he’ll come up with some interesting choices for Jack .
Shooting on Jack The Giant Killer commences in March.
