Bryan Singer confirms Hugh Jackman for X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Wolverine will definitely return
First it was rumoured, then it moved to the ‘in talks’ stage , and now it’s been confirmed by the director: Bryan Singer has tweeted that Hugh Jackman will definitely appear in X-Men: Days Of Future Past .
Looking to be a greatest hits of X-Men past and present, Days… already has Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart on board, joining the cast members who revamped the franchise in First Class , namely Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.
While specific plot details are being kept under wraps, DOFP will deal with time travel, which is what will allow the older and younger incarnations of the characters to appear in the same film.
It’s not yet clear how big a role Jackman, McKellen and Stewart will play: as they’ve been announced so early, we’re expecting something much more substantial than a cameo. Hugh Jackman has already admitted that "there will be more claws in this one" .
X-Men: Days Of Future Past is set to open in the UK on 18 July 2014, and it will mark the seventh time Jackman has played Wolverine, following X-Men , X-Men 2 , X-Men: The Last Stand , X-Men Origins: Wolverine , X-Men: First Class and The Wolverine .
I would officially like to welcome @ realhughjackman to the cast of #Xmen Days of Future Past. Very excited!More to come... December 19,
