Bret McKenzie confirmed for Muppets sequel
He’ll be penning some all-new songs
The Muppets sequel recently dropped its first big piece of casting news, with Christoph Waltz set to play an Interpol agent , and has now revealed another exciting tidbit with the confirmation that Bret McKenzie will return on soundtrack duties.
The Flight Of The Conchords star won himself an Oscar for his song ' Man Or Muppet', and is currently hard at work on a new batch of songs for the forthcoming sequel.
Meanwhile, producer Todd Lieberman has hinted that there might be a new Muppet introduced in the new film. And while our favourites will always be the tried and tested originals, it’s really a case of the more the merrier when it comes to the Muppets.
This new film will see Kermit and friends clowning around Europe in what director James Bobin has described as a classic Muppets caper. He's currently ironing out the script's finer details alongside Nicholas Stoller, co-writer of the first film.
The sequel will be filmed at London’s Pinewood studios, with cameras set to begin rolling in January. Expect some more human casting to be unveiled in the coming months…
