The 13th Film4 FrightFest will show 48 films on three screens!
The UK’s leading event for horror lovers will take over the Empire Cinema in London’s Leicester Square for an extended, gory weekend from 23 to 27 August. Goosebumps are guaranteed with a record 15 world and 23 European film premieres.
FOCUS ON ITALIAN HORROR
This year, the festival will plunge into Italian frights with Total Film magazine ’s guest icon Dario Argento, and screenings of Federico Zampaglione’s TULPA, Manetti Bros PAURA 3D and the documentary EUROCRIME! which celebrates the "poliziotteschi" movies that ruled the Italian cinema in the 1970s.
INTERNATIONAL FRIGHTS
Freshly packaged from Spain will be Paco Plaza’s [REC]3 GENESIS and Jaume Balaguero’s thriller SLEEP TIGHT. The Chilean HIDDEN IN THE WOODS will also be in Spanish. The Dutch will bring KILL ZOMBIE! this year, and Germany will showcase ERRORS OF THE HUMAN BODY and WE ARE THE NIGHT. The Japanese will present their DEAD SUSHI, and there will also be an International Short Film Showcase.

The newly added Re-Discovery Screen will show fully restored versions of three classics THE DEVIL RIDES OUT, RASPUTIN THE MAD MONK and THE MUMMY’S SHROUD. There is also a special presentation of THE BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN.

Tickets are on sale now, and you can purchase them via the FrightFest website or Empire Cinemas , but tickets for individual films will be available from the 28 July (bookings on 08 714 714 714 or www.empirecinemas.co.uk ).
