Borderlands 2 landing September 18, preorder loot revealed

2K Games and Gearbox Software have announced that Borderlands 2 will arrive planetside on September 18 in North America, and September 21 Internationally. Witness the next generation of off-world, multiplayer, cel-shaded shooters in today's launch date trailer.

Split screen co-op? Ninja dudes with laser swords? Claptrap doing the robot? Judging by the media we've see so far (and our latest preview) Gearbox is hitting the wasteland running with its Borderlands sequel.

Also teased in the trailer are Borderlands 2's pre-order items, which can be obtained by slapping down some cash at either GameStop and Amazon.com. Those that do will be treated with a pass to the game's Premiere Club, which includes a Golden Key, used to unlock a rare treat in the Sanctuary Loot Chest; a Vault Hunter's Relic, an item said to boost one's gear-hunting prowess; and the Gearbox Gunpack, a package containing one-of-a-kind Gearbox Golden Guns.

Are you excited for the sequel? Can you handle the “wub wub”? Let us know what you think of Gearbox's Borderlands follow-up in the comments.
