Barbara Broccoli may sound like the mild-mannered alter ego for a vegetable-themed superhero, but she's actually a producer for the James Bond franchise - and Page Six reports she's close to bringing Daniel Craig back into the fold.
According to unnamed sources, Craig and Broccoli's talks are "going in the right direction. They have a script - screenwriting duo Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (Casino Royale, Skyfall) are writing and they’ll go into production as soon as Daniel is ready to commit." In light of this, the source says that Broccoli has "just about persuaded Daniel Craig to do one more Bond movie."
If true, it would mark a big change in attitude from just a little over a year ago, when Craig told Time Out magazine, "I'd rather … slash my wrists" than play Bond again - and that if he did reprise the role, it would "only be for the money."
Strong words. Just keep that in mind if these reports turn out to be true and we see Craig on the interview circuit a year from now, talking about how much he loved the script and character and that he's thrilled to be 007 again.
