Blue Is The Warmest Colour wins the Palme d'Or at Cannes 2013
Abdellatif Kechiche's explicit lesbian drama takes the top award
Blue Is The Warmest Colour has been awarded the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival 2013.
Abdellatif Kechiche's three-hour drama examines the relationship between two students, played by Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux. Based on a graphic novel, it was one of the most talked about films of the fest, not only for its heartfelt story and naturalistic performances, but also for its extremely graphic sex scenes.
The Coen brothers' celebrated Inside Llewyn Davis scored the Grand Prix, and Bruce Dern and Bérénice Bejo took home the Actor and Actor prizes.
