Bloodborne's servers being taken down for emergency maintenance sucked worse than a fight against the Blood-Starved Beast with no Fire Paper in your pocket, but as of today, things should be back to normal. From Software reports that Bloodborne servers are back online, and everyone's version should now be updated to 1.08.
Although never confirmed, it was theorized by Reddit users that the emergency maintenance was to help close a loophole that allowed players who had not purchased The Old Hunters DLC to nonetheless access the new content. Some who claim to have taken advantage of the glitch now say they can no longer access The Old Hunters - though they apparently have been able to keep any new weapons they got their hands on.
So if you're struggling through The Hunter's Nightmare, bust out those bells. Bloodborne has returned from the Server's Dream and help is now available.
