U.K. developer Blitz Games Studios is ceasing operations after 23 years in business. TheLeamington Spacompany, which largely worked onfamily-friendly licensed titles, today announced that about 125 of its 175 employees will be out of their jobs.
Blitz will seek to retain the remaining 50 within a new company for two projects which are "self-sustaining financially." More information on the studio will be released soon. The future of IndieCity, its child company and online marketplace for small developers, is less certain.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
