The best Black Friday PS5 deals already live in 2024: early discounts available to buy right now
Black Friday PS5 deals are hitting now - here's everything part of this year's sale
Big retailers like Best Buy and Walmart have already officially started their Black Friday deals which is great news for any PS5 fans. More importantly, Sony announced its roster of Black Friday deals, which is set to commence on November 22, days before Black Friday officially begins. Sony's official savings include an incoming 25% off controllers, up to 40% off the PSVR 2, and even up to 30% off its PS Plus memberships. While the latter sounds especially juicy, especially if you've been putting off becoming a Premium member for a while, the marketing for the PS Plus deals is vague. With that in mind, we don't yet know if new and returning members can get in on these upcoming savings.
The PS5 Pro is definitely going to be worth keeping an eye on out of the bunch. I didn't expect we'd see any price cuts on its eye-watering MSRP of $700 this year at all, but the upgraded console is currently £40 off at some retailers in the UK. It's unfortunately still full price in the US, but I'm not convinced it won't also see some cash off across the pond before November is up.
Alternatively, if you want your PS5's storage to simply just match that of the new PS5 Pro, Best Buy has knocked $100 off the Western Digital SN850P 2TB, so you can upgrade your console without the scary price tag. The PlayStation edition Blackbone One mobile controller was also $50 off at Best Buy but is already sold out. If that isn't a sign that you need to get in fast when it comes to the PS5 deals this year, I don't know what is. Luckily it's still that cheap directly from the PlayStation website, but I doubt it will be for long. The recently released PS5 exclusive Silent Hill 2 remake is also already part of this year's sales and currently $10 off at Woot. So while the PS5 Pro hasn't yet dropped in price in the US, there are still plenty of Black Friday PS5 deals appearing left, right, and center.

Just having £40 knocked off its MSRP of £700 may not seem a lot, but this new price is mostly unheard of for brand-new consoles, making this one of the best early Black Friday deals we've yet to lay our eyes on.

The game reached a similar all-time low during December 2023 at Amazon but subsequently bounced back between its MSRP and the $40 mark until today. Now the sequel is 43% off its MSRP of $69.99, coming in at just $39.99. There's still a $5 difference between its current offer and its lower-ever price, but $30 off is still a deal worth not missing out on.
Buy it if:
✅ You want a bigger and better experience than its predecessor
✅ You want to finish the story God of War (2018) started
Don't buy it if:
❌ You haven't played God of War (2018)

The Last of Us Part 1 | $69.99 $45.99 at Amazon
Save $24 - This isn't the lowest price Last of Us Part 1 has been on the PS5, however, the game only just bounced back to this low price since September. Before now the game returned back to full price so 34% off is worth highlighting this Black Friday, especially as it saves you a whole $24 to put towards even more games.

Save $12 - The collection of radical retro TMNT games used to have a higher base price of $39.99, however, ever since July of last year it's never gone higher than $29.99. During the summer it mostly sat around this mark but now the price has been slashed by 40% just before Black Friday, making it the lowest it has ever been at $17.97 at Amazon.

Silent Hill 2 | $69.99 $59.99 at Woot
Save $10 - A 14% discount may not seem like a lot, however, this is one of the first deals I've come across for the horror remake so far. Silent Hill 2 has only been out for a little over a month, so any price cut this Black Friday is worthwhile, especially when other sites like Amazon only have it discounted by $5. Even though this deal only saves you just $10 in total, it's hopefully a sign of further price cuts to come.

What to expect from Black Friday PS5 deals in 2024
We'll start with the big one. The new mid-cycle refresh hit the shelves on November 7, just before Black Friday PS5 deals officially started to kick off. I'll get this out the way now, I was not expecting any discounts on that $699 launch price this year. However, some UK retailers surprisingly took £40 off as part of their early Black Friday deals. Sadly, the US has yet to budge where the Pro is concerned but that's not the end of the story. After all, Sony could well look to sweeten the deal over the holidays with free games and accessories for a limited time. If you're interested in picking up the PS5 Pro this year, I'd recommend getting in ahead of time. While the world's in a very different place from when the original console launched, we still don't know how available the refresh will be after long. Plus, Sony may well soften its heavy MSRP at launch with its own release day bundles this month.
The standard console should benefit from its own discounts, though. The PS5 enjoyed a fantastic sales season over the summer, dropping the $499 console down to $449 in the US (and at the start of the year that price would have got you a free copy of Spider-Man 2 as well) and from £479 to £399 in the UK over the course of a couple of weeks in June. The PS5 Slim has already proved itself friendlier in last year's Black Friday PS5 deals as well, packing a free game in with the $499 / £479 MSRP. Already we've seen these kinds of savings return to our shelves, but only in the UK. There the disc edition received an 11% discount, taking the price down to £424.99, whereas the digital-only version had 13% off making it just £229. The prices have already bounced back, but hopefully, it's a sign of more like it to come this Black Friday.
One thing's for certain, PS5 games are going to see their own discounts. Dead Island 2, Street Fighter 6, Resident Evil 4, Dead Space Remake, Assassins' Creed: Mirage, and Hogwarts Legacy were all 2023 releases seeing record low prices over Black Friday last year so it's reasonable to assume this year's titles will get the same treatment. Astro Bot and Assassin's Creed Shadows might be a little tricky to find on sale, but Star Wars Outlaws is a recent release that's ideal for savings come November if current figures are to be believed. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth also saw some price reductions during Prime Day, so it's a primed to see more this coming Black Friday. However, I'm looking to The Last Of Us Part 2 Remastered, Skull and Bones, Street Fighter 6, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Alone in the Dark, RoboCop Rogue City, Tekken 8, Helldivers 2, and Rise of the Ronin to offer up the best value discounts overall.
The majority of these titles hit the shelves in the first half of the year, so it's well worth keeping an eye on the release slate for 2024 to see where your savings might go this Fall. However, we can also expect the usual suspects to turn up; God of War: Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West, Spider-Man Miles Morales, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure are all mainstays of Black Friday PS5 deals these days.
In addition to the games, there are usually some discounts on peripherals. The official Pulse 3D headset had a brand-new lowest-ever price of just under $70 last year, and loads of third-party peripherals saw some massive cuts. One we heartily recommend considering this year, as we do ever year, is a PS5 SSD. The Samsung 980 PRO for example with heatsink was brand-new in 2021 and has seen its price steadily drop to just over $100, along with the WD BLACK SN850, which represents a ratio of nearly 1TB of storage for $100 which is excellent. In the external hard drive market, we'd be looking at WD's P40 SSD. This saw a chunky $75 off its MSRP last year, also nearly reaching that $100-mark.
FAQ
When will Black Friday PS5 deals begin?
We know that Black Friday PS5 deals will properly kick off on Friday, November 29, 2024. This is the day many retailers still go biggest on so expect many of the best offers to sell out quickly.
However, we've all seen this movie before: every year Black Friday deals drop earlier and earlier and it'll be wise to pay close attention to those things you have your eye on from now until the big day.
Where will the best Black Friday PS5 deals be?
All the major retailers on both sides of the Atlantic will be going large as they do every year. In our experience, the below stores are the best places to look, camp on, and frequently visit to get the best Black Friday PS5 deals.

Walmart: Snatch up the latest games and PS5 essentials

Should you buy a PS5 Pro on Black Friday?
That $699.99 / £699.99 launch price is certainly intimidating, however, if you are in the market for an upgrade, Black Friday might be the time to take the leap. While we might not see any more straight discounts, I'm expecting a couple of bundles to pop up during the holiday sales. As we saw with last year's Spider-Man 2 package these offers don't last.
Once Sony's official bundles have run their course they're unlikely to be seen again until the next major sale (likely Black Friday 2025), so if you want the best value this year I'd recommend keeping an eye out this month.
If it's the PS5 Pro's upgraded 2TB SSD that has your attention, you can alternatively pick up a new SSD for your launch model PS5. This means you can still get a dramatic increase from the 825GB SSD without having to put down the cash for a whole new unit. SSDs will hopefully be a big part of this year's discounts, so keeping an eye on our Black Friday PS5 SSD deals is your best bet at giving your existing Sony console a major boost.
Of course, we're also keeping you stocked with info on all of this year's offers, so whether you're after Black Friday gaming headset deals or Black Friday gaming monitor deals, we've got you covered.
