Black Friday Pokemon card deals 2024: Get ready for the sale
Gotta catch 'em all
Things are starting to heat up as we approach this year's Black Friday Pokemon card deals, and the discounts are beginning to appear. Even if you're a long-time collector or a complete beginner, the annual sale is well worth paying attention to. You can save on everything from Elite Trainer boxes to boosters, and many items hit their lowest ever price as a result.
Sure, the event isn't particularly well known for bargains on the best card games. It's more famous for reductions on tech, after all. But you can get excellent value for money via Black Friday Pokemon card deals if you know where to look. That's why I've given the best advice I can on how to take advantage of them here.
Our team's been covering Black Friday gaming deals for years now, so we've built up more than a few hints and tips. You'll find all of these listed below, including where to look, what to prioritize, and which sets are likely to steal the spotlight in 2024's Black Friday Pokemon card deals.

Buy it if:

Black Friday Pokemon card deals: FAQ
When will Black Friday Pokemon card deals start?
Unlike Prime Day, it's always easy to predict when Black Friday takes place. It occurs after Thanksgiving and on the final Friday of November each year, which means that the 2024 Black Friday Pokemon card deals are due for November 29.
However, that doesn't mean you've got just 24 hours to take advantage of this sale. Black Friday starts earlier and earlier each year (unofficially, at least), so expect offers to crop up two or so weeks before that. They'll then roll into early December, at which point they become 'Cyber Monday' reductions.
Just bear in mind that the best offers are saved for Black Friday itself, so keep an eye out!
Does Pokemon go on sale during Black Friday?
Pokemon absolutely does get in on the Black Friday sale, offering discounts on toys, video games, and more. While the Trading Card Game didn't traditionally enjoy many reductions at this time of year, that's changed recently. These days, the Black Friday Pokemon card deals get your money off everything from massive booster boxes to Elite Trainer Boxes.
Where will I find the best Black Friday Pokemon card deals?
Even though Amazon is always a good bet when it comes to Black Friday Pokemon card deals, the likes of Walmart (in-store, anyway) are often pretty great for discounts.
Unfortunately, everyone's cottoned on to this fact and the shelves are stripped bare pretty fast. That means you'll need to be fast if you want to catch 'em all - OK, fine, I'll stop with the Pokejokes now.
Here are the retailers I tend to keep an eye on:
USA
- Amazon: A reliable choice for variety and deals on major packs
- Walmart: Offers a surprising range of card deals, especially in-store
- Best Buy: Plenty of boxsets available, but mainly new ones
- Miniature Market: Regular sales across ranges
UK
- Amazon: Traditionally good for discounts on the biggest sets
- Magic Madhouse: Good for individual cards or sets
- Zatu: A reliable source of discounts
What to expect from Black Friday Pokemon card deals 2024
Because the Pokemon TCG doesn't enjoy big discounts all that often, Black Friday Pokemon card deals should definitely be on your radar in 2024. But what exactly will get a reduction? And what should you prioritize?
In terms of what we'll actually get on offer this year, here are some predictions based on what I've seen in previous years.
🎁 Elite Trainer boxes will lead the charge
It's a fair bet that Elite Trainer Boxes (which feature a handful of booster packs, a special card, card sleeves, and more) will get the lion's share of reductions. They enjoy price cuts up to and during the annual Black Friday Pokemon card deals, so I don't expect that pattern to change. It certainly didn't last year.
🃏 Booster boxes should get the biggest reductions
You know those massive booster boxes, featuring hundreds of cards? They get the most tempting price cuts in terms of actual money off. That's largely because they're the most expensive to begin with, but that means Black Friday is your best chance to dive in if your budget is able to stretch that far.
➕ Giftware and accessories will get good (if modest) savings
Battle Decks with premade sets, limited packs such as the Charizard EX Collection, fun gift sets (the kind with pins or exclusive cards), and third-party accessories are contenders for a saving too. Indeed, I saw plenty of them go on offer last year, and accessories in particular fill the listing pages on the likes of Amazon.
❌ There's going to be a lot of third-party roundups
Black Friday seems like an opportunity for third-party sellers to come out of the woodwork. A lot of card bundles and roundups will appear to be on sale, but I'd suggest proceeding with caution - there's no way to tell what you're getting, or if it's legit.
🏫 Battle Academy always goes on offer
If you're a newcomer, you should definitely check out the Pokemon Battle Academy box this Black Friday. It's a super effective introduction (apologies, it was too tempting) to the game itself and gives you everything you need to play right away. Because it often gets a price cut and has been reduced during Black Friday before, I'd say to keep an eye on it as we enter the November sales season.
Last year's best Black Friday Pokemon card deals
Obsidian Flames Booster Bundle | $27.99 $20.95 at Walmart
Save $7 - That's a lowest-ever price to bring last year's Black Friday Pokemon card deals up a notch. You got six boosters with this pack.
151 Elite Trainer Box | $54.99 $47.49 at Amazon
Save $7 - This was one of the cheapest 151 Elite Trainer Boxes we'd seen during the Black Friday Pokemon card deals, and because it was from such a hyped release, that wasn't an opportunity to miss.
Paradox Rift Display Booster Box | $160.99 $105 at Walmart
Save $55 - Here was a massive saving to kick off the Black Friday Pokemon deals last year. We'd seen it $5 cheaper before, but these are the sorts of discounts that can disappear quicker than a Jolteon holding a Salac Berry.
151 Ultra Premium Collection | $119.99 $95.99 at Amazon
Save $24 - This was very close to the lowest price we'd seen this set fall to, making it a very notable saving worth considering.
151 Poster Collection | $29.96 $15.98 at Amazon
Save $14 - This cute giftset had only ever been a dollar or so cheaper, and because that's the lowest we were seeing it anywhere, it was a solid offer.
Obsidian Flames Build & Battle Box | $34.95 $20.49 at Amazon
Save $7 - It's hard to tell what the MSRP was for this because it was hidden, but from our research, it'd fallen around $15 from its highest point.
Scarlet & Violet Elite Trainer Box (Miraidon) | $49.99 $39.99 at Walmart
Save $10 - This was a single cent off the box's lowest ever price, so last November was a good time to strike if you wanted to get a good deal.
Scarlet & Violet Booster Box | $124.95 $98.84 at Walmart
Save $26 - This bundle pack hadn't ever been cheaper, so we'd chalk that up as one of the better Black Friday Pokemon card deals.
Obsidian Flames Booster Box | $160.99 $115 at Amazon
Save $45 - This isn't the lowest price we'd seen this bundle drop to, but it was still a good saving on lots of boosters if you were on the hunt for the Obsidian Flames set.
Scarlet & Violet Elite Trainer Box (Koraidon) | $49.99 $34.99 at Walmart
Save $17 - Here's another new box set that also dipped in price, despite having recently removed the MSRP on Walmart so you couldn't see the saving. It was just a dollar off its lowest ever price, and the Black Friday Pokemon card deals hadn't even started yet.
UK
Paldea Partners tin | $26.64 $19.75 at Amazon
Save $7 - So far as we've been able to tell, this pack had never been cheaper. A good start to the early Black Friday Pokemon card deals, in other words.
Obsidian Flames Booster Box | £154.44 £106.99 at Zatu
Save £47 - If you wanted lots of boosters for as little as possible, this deal was one to watch out for. It'd never been cheaper before, a saving of almost £50/30% off.
Paradox Rift Elite Trainer Box | £49.99 £39.95 at Magic Madhouse
Save £10 - That was one pence off this pack's lowest ever price, making for a very good start to the early Black Friday Pokemon card deals.
Pokemon Paldea Evolved Elite Trainer Box | £44.99 £35.99 at Amazon
Save £8 - We don't usually get many Pokemon card deals, so this Black Friday offer was a great place to start, especially because it was just a few pence off its lowest price.
Obsidian Flames Elite Trainer Box | £49.99 £38.99 at Zatu
Save £11 - This new box set hadn't ever been cheaper, and was an example of why you should always keep an eye on smaller retailers as well as the classics.
There are plenty of other offers to choose from, including Black Friday board game deals, Black Friday Lego deals, and 2024's D&D Black Friday deals. Take a look if you want some gift-giving inspiration! Of course, we're also rounding up everything we expect to see in this year's Black Friday video game deals as well.
