First screens of BioWare's Command & Conquer Generals 2 look like a C&C game

One of the biggest surprises of the VGA Awards was the revelation that BioWare was, indeed, working on a sequel to the PC classic Command & Conquer Generals. Beyond that, however, we weren't given much to go on by the . BioWare made RPGs, MMOs, and, well, more RPGs - would Generals maintain its real-time strategy flavor? If the first two screenshots are to be believed, the answer is a resounding yes.

The first image looks a lot like the teaser shot from a few weeks back, featuring a man flying out of a car. That might not seem way too RTS-y to StarCraft fans, but anyone who played Generals likely remembers the corpses that flew out of the demolished vehicles in the past game. Blowing up a jeep would result in some nice rag-doll physics, something it looks like it being maintained in this game.

This second image, however, looks right on target. The camera angle is right, the variety of vehicles is great, and the scale of the battle looks perfect. So, what do you think? Are you sold on this new BioWare C&C experience, or are you going to cross your arms and frown from now until its 2013 release?
