Biazarro on the cards for Brosnan
Pierce is producing and starring in a novel adaptation
Now that someone else gets to slip into the tux, Pierce Brosnan is continuing to have a little fun in the post-Bond part of his career. His latest project will see him producing and starring in The Big Biazarro, which is based on Leonard Wise’s novel.
Biazarro is set in the world of high-stakes gambling (so Pierce won’t feel too out of place in a card-slinging environment) and sees the former 007 playing a veteran player who has to deal with – and then mentor - an arrogant younger protégé.
Vondie Curtis-Hall is the man charged with writing and directing the eventual movie, though Pierce will be fully involved with all the decisions, and sees this new film as the start of a plan to make more films now he doesn’t have to worry about strapping on the Walther PPK every few years. "When you have a role like Bond, it becomes your life, and the time always went quickly between films," he told Variety. "We managed to make six films over the last 10 years, but with Bond no longer in my life, it allows me more time and choices, and the chance to be adventuresome. I've been in all our projects so far, and I'd like to try just being the producer on some of these projects."
