Best exercises for toning your arms with Ring Fit Adventure
Ring Fit Adventure is well known for its ability to put the fun into fitness, especially when it comes to slotting in exercise sessions around a busy lifestyle. However, what you might not know is how good Ring Fit Adventure is at letting you target specific areas of your body with each workout session. So, here's how to use Ring Fit Adventure to target and tone your arms.
Adventure Mode
While Adventure Mode is where you can work on your entire body, you can also work through the levels and focus on a specific area of your body. Press the Y button on your Ring-Con and then hit Set Fit Skills. Here you'll immediately find all the skills that are focused on improving your arms. While these are great, they are all Red moves, which can make working through Adventure Mode much trickier.
If you're looking for a more overall arm workout that incorporates all the different types of exercises on offer in Ring Fit Adventure's Adventure Mode, head along the run to the 'All' section. This will bring in all the fit skills you've unlocked so far to create more varied workout options to really focus on specific areas of your body. Here the Upper Arms section offers quite different combinations of exercises that you can set to use in Adventure Mode. Depending on what you've unlocked, it could range from Yoga moves like the Tree Pose, to the more energetic options like the Mountain Climber or Knee-Life Combo.
It's a great way to make sure Adventure Mode is working for you and the areas of the body you want to target with each workout.
Quick Play
Away from Adventure Mode, the Quick Play options are great for short-burst workouts that can still focus on a particular area. The two best minigames for this if you're looking to work on your arms are Crate Crasher and Bootstrap Tower.
Crate Crasher sees you using the Ring-Con to direct pulses of air towards a stack of crates. Pushing in on the Ring-Con releases a burst of air that smashes the crates in front of you, and you'll also be able to pop balloons that appear to destroy the crates that surround it. So it's all about working as hard as you can to destroy as many crates within the time limit.
Bootstrap Tower, on the other hand, sees you trying to climb a tower using the Ring-Con. You squeeze in and then flick it down to fling yourself from handhold to handhold. Your aim is to collect as many coins as you can within the time limit.
Both minigames are brilliantly simple to grasp, but the fact that they not only give you a good workout but also create a high-score leaderboard to beat and try to better your friends.
Custom Workouts
Finally, there are also Custom Workouts. These allow you to combine all of the above in a workout that you can tailor to the time you have for exercising. You can mix in arm-specific movements like the Overhead Press or Bow Pull, with those excellent minigames for a wonderfully varied workout that's still great for toning and strengthening your arms.
