Best exercises for sculpting your legs with Ring Fit Adventure
You might know that Ring Fit Adventure is a great way to easily work exercise into your busy life, but more importantly have fun with it too. However, did you know that there are many ways to let Ring Fit Adventure help you work on specific areas of your body too? Here's how to use Ring Fit Adventure to strengthen and tone your leg muscles.
Adventure Mode
Adventure Mode is great for full-body workouts, but did you know that you can also use it to focus on specific areas of your body? Press Y while on the map screen and then choose Set Fit Skills. Here, you'll find a section that collates all the leg-centric skills you've unlocked, which can range from the Thigh Press to the Wide Squat. The majority are blue moves, so you can stick to this, but this will in turn make the Adventure Mode levels more difficult for a more intense workout.
However, if you go along to the 'All' section, you'll find a wider selection of your unlocked moves under the Leg option here. Blending yoga with more traditional workouts, you'll be able to build a more varied selection of moves to take into Adventure Mode, including Leg Scissors and the Chair Pose.
It's the best way to tailor Adventure Mode to focus on a specific part of your body for each workout, without losing out on the Ring Fit Adventure story.
Quick Play
Outside of Adventure Mode though, there are more ways to make Ring Fit Adventure tailor to your workout needs. Over in Quick Play, there are a few options if you're looking to work on your legs.
First, there's the Simple workouts that focus on your legs. The Quadriceps Challenge asks you to see how many knee lifts you can do in 20 seconds, for example, which really works those upper thighs in a short burst, perfect for fitting in a focus session around busy lives. You've also got the sets that a better if you've got a little more time. They ask you to perform random exercises focused on your legs, a bit like a personal trainer but it's a cute robot instead.
For something a little more playful, but equally focused on strengthening your legs, there are also the minigames. For the legs, there are actually four minigames that you can work through - Dreadmill, Thigh Rider, Squattery Wheel, and Squat Goals.
Both Squattery Wheel and Squat Goals, as the names suggest, involve squats. Squat Goals is simple but effective, asking you to collect tokens by squatting and releasing to launch your character into the air - the lower you squat, the higher they leap. Squattery Wheel, on the other hand, is about controlling your squat to cut away at the clay to create a pot that's the closest in shape to the one you're shown. It's brilliantly fun, and especially when playing against friends, it's easy to forget it's also a good workout.
Thigh Rider is also a laugh, as you have to sit down and put the Ring-Con between your thighs. You then squeeze your thighs together to make a little buggy jump to avoid obstacles, clear gaps, and collect coins. It works really well, and makes you think you're playing a classic platformer like Super Mario, but working out at the same time. Finally, Dreadmill is a running mini-game that focuses on your stamina. You just need to control your running speed to move along the sideways treadmill to collect coins and avoid danger.
Custom Workouts
Finally, you can also create a Custom Workout. These are a great way of combining everything that Ring Fit Adventure has to offer, from the exercises found in Adventure Mode to the mini-games. You can pick what goes into them, set times, and more, so they're a great way to build out more versatile yet structured routines with Ring Fit Adventure that can be tailored to the part of your body you want to strengthen or tone.
