Benicio Del Toro joins Guardians Of The Galaxy
He'll be taking a leading role
Guardians Of The Galaxy 's casting drive continues to go from strength to strength, with Benicio Del Toro the latest big name to sign on to the Marvel extravaganza.
Marvel is keeping extremely tight-lipped as to who Del Toro will be playing, but the part is thought to be one of the leading roles, as opposed to a Samuel L. Jackson-eque cameo.
Intriguingly, Deadline reports that the star has signed a multi-picture deal, with a view to his character reappearing in further Marvel movies. Make of that what you will…
Del Toro follows hot on the heels of recent additions Glenn Close and Karen Gillan, with John C. Reilly also in advanced negotiations, and Ken Watanabe, Hugh Laurie and Alan Rickman all on the studio's wish-list.
Directed by James Gunn and co-starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
