Ben Foster joining Ridley Scott's Prometheus?
Alien prequel also gets a vague official synopsis
Prometheus , Ridley Scott's sorta-prequel to Alien , is shaping up to be one of the most exciting movies in production, and there's a rumour doing the rounds at JoBlo that Ben Foster has joined the cast.
The film already boasts a raft of talented actors, including Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Idris Elba and Michael Fassbender.
Foster is something of a divisive actor, with his ker-ay-zee schtick proving a bit wearing at times. His presence could also bring back unwelcome memories of substandard space shocker Pandorum .
Prometheus has also been given an official synopsis, which is possibly the most vague blurb of its kind ever seen.
The virtually detail-free summary goes as follow:
"Visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott returns to the genre he helped define, creating an original science fiction epic set in the most dangerous corners of the universe.
"The film takes a team of scientists and explorers on a thrilling journey that will test their physical and mental limits and strand them on a distant world, where they will discover the answers to our most profound questions and to life’s ultimate mystery."
Prometheus is due to land in cinemas on 1 June 2012, and is a rare release that we're actively excited about seeing in 3D.
