Battlefield 3 Destruction trailer would make Michael Bay proud
This new Battlefield trailer is a minute well spent for anyone with an interest in the real-time destruction physics of the game's Frostbite 2 engine. Or, to put it another way, here's footage of lots of buildings within Battlefield 3 getting blown all to hell and looking suitably chaotic in the process. Enjoy.
The BF3 Beta release didn't include a lot of these destructible environments: the trial, which ended this week, focused on stress-testing the game's multiplayer capabilities, leaving the full gamut of destruction and artillery for the title's launch later this month. So this is most likely the first you've seen of just how large-scale the game's destruction physics can be. That military-look claymore-strapped console case is looking a bit more sensible now.
