Lauren Cohan has been playing zombie apocalypse survivor Maggie Greene for five years now on AMC's The Walking Dead, but it looks like she's about to see what it's like on the other side of the grave. Entertainment Weekly reports that Cohan will play the role of Martha Wayne in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and I don't think it's a spoiler at this point to say that the Waynes meet with a cruel fate.
While Batman v Superman director Zack Snyder theoretically could have a different fate in store for Martha and her husband Thomas, it'd be kind of weird for Bruce Wayne's parents not to die. I mean, that's kind of his thing. But then again, the DC cinematic universe has already revealed several unexpected changes, including a Lex Luthor with hair and a heavily-inked Joker. We'll find out what's in store for Cohan this March.
Directed by Zack Snyder and starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Diane Lane, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Laurence Fishburne and Amy Adams, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will arrive in UK and US cinemas on March 25, 2016.
