A new vision of Gotham emerges in the superhero comedy Batman: The Audio Adventures Special
The unique Batman: The Audio Adventures scripted podcast is underway now, and it's already prompted a spin-off comic book. Batman: The Audio Adventures Special will be a one-shot prequel to the popular superhero comedy which places Batman as a deputized member of the Gotham City Police Department.
Here's a look at the stories in Batman: The Audio Adventures Special #1:
- 'A Gotham City One Special Report' starring Jack Ryder by writer Dennis McNicholas, artists Leonardo Romero and Rich Ellis, colorist Mike Spicer, and letterer AndWorld Design
- 'A Better Mousetrap' starring Batman by writer Dennis McNicholas, penciller Anthony Marques, inker J. Bone, colorist Dave Stewart, and letterer Ferran Delgado
- 'King Scimitar - Who He is and How He is Come to Being Now' by writer Dennis McNicholas, artist German Peralta, colorist Kristian Rossi, and letter AndWorld Design
- 'She Called Pest Control!' starring Catwoman by writer Dennis McNicholas, penciller Emma Kubert, inker Roberto Poggi, colorist Hi-Fi, and letterer Carlos Mangual
- 'Bedtime for Scrambles' starring Penguin and Stoveplate Sullivan by writers Bobby Moynihan and Dennis McNicholas, artist Jon Mikel, colorist Nick Filardi, and letterer Joshua Reed

For the podcast itself, DC and HBO Max enlisted Marques, Bone, and Stewart to visualize their versions of Batman, Robin, and more.
"We pulled from all different points, comics, and moments throughout Batman's history for these," Marques wrote on Facebook. "Way too much fun!"

In addition to familiar faces from DC's Batman comics, Batman: The Audio Adventures is also introducing new villains such as King Scimitar, Stoveplate Sullivan, and Billy Wristwatch - which will all make their comic book debut with Batman: The Audio Adventures Special.
