Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders trailer reunites the 1960's Dynamic Duo: Adam West and Burt Ward
Between Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Batman: The Killing Joke, and Suicide Squad, we've seen a lot of Batman on screen this year. While those depictions of the Dark Knight have been dark and gritty, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders - which sees Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar reprise their roles from the 1960's Batman TV series - will be anything but, and the first full trailer for the animated film has made its way online.
Check it out below...
Full disclosure; While I have a lot of respect for the 1960's TV show, I've never felt the urge to revisit it like I have with Batman: The Animated Series (which is what I grew up with). With that said, this trailer is tons of fun; From the costume changes to the dialogue - "You fiends, you will rue this day" and "The only roux here is in the gravy!" is particularly great - the film looks to have perfectly captured the spirit of the classic TV series. Given how disappointed many have been by various Batman portrayals this year, this feels like it could be the perfect time for a bit of throwback fun.
Directed by Rick Morales and starring the voices of Adam West, Burt Ward, and Julie Newmar, Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders will be released on Digital HD on October 11, 2016 before heading to Blu-ray on November 1, 2016.
