Barkley 2 Kickstarter almost as weird as its action-RPG inspired game
Tales of Game's sequel to one and only Charles Barkley JRPG
Ok, there's no way to phrase this that sounds less insane: indie studio Tales of Game's is Kickstarting a sequel to Barkley: Shut up and Jam Gaiden, which was an unofficial JRPG-inspired sequel to both 1994 basketball game Barkley: Shut up and Jam and classic sporting film Space Jam. And the developers need $35,000 to do it.
The Magical Realms of Tír na nÓg: Escape from Necron 7 - Revenge of Cuchulainn: The Official Game of the Movie - Chapter 2 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa (Barkley 2 for short) will have b-ball, and it will have sprites, and it will have player choice in a world which changes over time, and it will have action combat with randomly generated firearms.
While backers need only pledge $10 to receive a digital copy of the game for PC upon its estimated release in December 2013, those who put in for $100 will also receive a body pillow case adorned with a lustful print of the game's enigmatic basketball-headed Cyberdwarf character. For $1,000, Tales of Game's will let one money-flushed soul pose as one of their developers in an interview with the media.
We don't quite know what to say, other than to encourage you to try the original (that is to say, the sequel to... oh, you know) Barkley RPG, which is available for free on the developer's website.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
