What is the Baldur's Gate 3 max level cap?
Characters in Baldur's Gate 3 can't go above level 12
The Baldur's Gate 3 level cap for characters and classes isn't anywhere close to the max cap of 20 that players can reach for class abilities in D&D. Baldur's Gate 3 has adapted the game pretty faithfully, but don't expect to be unlocking ninth-level spell slots before you're done, or getting spells like Wish in Gale's repertoire. If you're not sure where your power taps out, here's the max level cap in Baldur's Gate 3 explained.
What is the max level in Baldur's Gate 3?
The level cap in Baldur's Gate 3 is 12, having previously been 5 prior to the full release of the game. It's highly unlikely that we'll see further updates or expansions in the future that raise the cap beyond level 12, due to the complexity it adds when accounting for high-level spells and powers.
A level 12 cap means that players have access to a respectable amount of abilities from the various Baldur's Gate 3 classes, and more opportunity to mix and match those class abilities with multiclassing. However, it does mean that many of the OP, late-game powers from D&D won't be available. How does one program in the Divine Intervention power, or the Wish Spell? While those ridiculously powerful spells might be impossible to implement, that doesn't mean there aren't some great spells in Baldur's Gate 3 already.
