Anita (Smith) is a 'babymother' on a London Harlesden estate, bringing up two kids with little help from their 'babyfather', dancehall king Byron (Johnson). She dreams of becoming a DJ queen and teams up with her girlfriends to take to the stage, much to her other half's displeasure.
This burst of British refreshment boasts colour, attitude and infectious reggae tunes. The cast has a clutch of familiar faces: particularly delicious is Rising Damp nice-guy Warrington in a more sinister role, but it's all marred by Anita's vocals obviously being dubbed in by Trilla Jenna.
