Baby Driver will be Edgar Wrights next film
Director moving on from Ant-Man disappointment
After what must have been an incredibly difficult decision to walk away from long-term passion project, Ant-Man , Edgar Wright has settled on Baby Driver as his next directorial gig.
Deadline reports that the film will be “a collision of crime, action, music and sound”, which sounds like a perfect description of Wright’s gleefully kinetic style.
Baby Driver has apparently been in the works since 2008, and while no plot details have ever been revealed, it could be the musical Wright has been hinting at making for some time now.
“I've written a script which is kind of like a musical,” said Wright back in 2011. “Slightly a departure for me in some ways!”
A departure, for sure, and probably about as far removed a project from Ant-Man as is possible. Deadline reports that the film is on the fast-track, so hopefully we should discover some more details sooner rather than later…
