Looking forward to the Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and Avengers: Infinity War Part 2 movies? Well, you won't be for much longer, at least not as you know them - Joe and Anthony Russo, directors of the third and fourth Avengers flicks (as well as Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War) say that the movies will be getting retitled soon.
In an interview with Uproxx, Anthony said that it was "misleading" to label them "Part 1" and "Part 2." His brother Joe agreed, saying that the films are "two very different movies." The Russos admitted that they haven't come up with suitable replacements for the names just yet, and they don't know when they'll announce the new titles, but I'm still glad to hear the news.
Personally, I feel like "Part 1" and "Part 2" aren't just relatively plain, they also imply that you're only getting half of a movie. That shtick might've worked back when we weren't used to the idea, but I feel like splitting up a film has since become a transparent marketing strategy that customers don't appreciate.
In the meantime, who's ready to watch Captain America and Iron Man slug it out this weekend?
