Avengers: Age Of Ultron is huge says Paul Bettany
As if there was any doubt that Avengers: Age Of Ultron is going to blow our socks off when it hits cinemas in April, Paul Bettany has confirmed that the comic-book sequel is “the biggest thing Marvel have ever done”.
Bettany voiced Tony Stark's AI servant JARVIS in Iron Man 1-3, plus Avengers Assemble, and will be appearing in Avengers: Age Of Ultron as new super-ally The Vision.
“I’ve never been on a bigger set on my entire life than in The Avengers [Age Of Ultron],” he told Radio Times. “One [part] seemed to be the corner of a town, with helicopter cameras, and drone cameras flying about. I just haven’t seen anything that big, so it was like being a kid on a film set again... This is the biggest thing Marvel have ever done.”
Bettany adds: “I remember, we were at Comic-Con, and they showed a portion of the footage, and I was just gobsmacked. And I looked down the row and every one of the Avengers was the same.
“Including Samuel Jackson. And his whole modus operandi is, ‘I’ve seen everything before, I’m the most chilled out, relaxed man and I’ve seen everything…’ And he was as knocked out as anyone. It’s huge.”
It'll have to be to top last year's record-setting Guardians Of The Galaxy (it was the highest-grossing superhero movie of 2014), and we can't wait to see what returning director Joss Whedon has cooked up.
Starring Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner and many more, Avengers: Age Of Ultron opens on 24 April 2015.
