Assassin's Creed Valhalla reveal trailer showcases Viking adventure

The Assassin's Creed Valhalla reveal trailer has given us a huge look at this year's entry in the stabby series.

Set in the Dark Ages period of English history, you play as Eivor, a Viking looking to find a new home for their people. After landing on the shores of England, they look to build a future for their clan, as well as fighting against the forces of King Aelfred of Wessex. Keep your eyes peeled as well, you might just spot an old Norse deity...

Take a look at the trailer below.

Ubisoft has also provided more information in a press release sent over that confirms you'll be able to play as either a female or male Eivor, as well as new features "including raids, growing their settlement, building their power, and expanding their influence."

In short, it sounds like you'll have plenty to keep you busy as you help establish a home for the Vikings in England. Creative director Ashraf Ismail said in a statement: “Being in Eivor’s boots as both a Viking raider and a clan leader, players will face the conflicts of establishing a new home while in the midst of a power struggle for control of England.”

It was also confirmed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will launch holiday 2020 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC. Actually, you can pre-order Assassin's Creed Valhalla already.

This follows yesterday's reveal of the Assassin's Creed Valhalla name during an 8 hour stream. Ubisoft recruited artist BossLogic to help reveal the game's setting and name by producing a piece of artwork live. Now, you can watch the whole 8 hour stream unfurl here if you like, but if you'd rather get a more condensed version of BossLogic working away on his staggering drawing, Ubisoft also uploaded a 3 minute timelapse. You can watch that more manageable version down below.
